With the beginning of 2026, the project Future Food Imaginaries in Global Climate Fiction is formally at an end. The project will now be reported to the funding research council FORMAS. If allowed by FORMAS, this report will also be published in its entirety on here. At this time, in addition to the outreach and media activities described on this home page, the project has been reported in three scholarly articles (two accepted and forthcoming this year), one special issue edited by the PI, and one forthcoming scholarly collection also edited by the PI. Two articles, one on Nordic Climate Fiction and one that compares North American, Nordic and Sub-Saharan fiction, are yet to be published. Both articles are close to completion and will be submitted to journals before the summer. Foodimagine.org will be online for the duration of 2026, and possibly also in the future. I will also update the blog with some regularity. The work to transition to a sustainable food system, and to understand the challenge this entails, is still at an early stage. I am very grateful to FORMAS for the opportunity to contribute to it.
Project officially concluded
